Hello! My name is Courtney. I was born and raised in Danville Illinois. I've been a CNA/ homemaker for over 5 years. Im currently a traveling CNA mostly to LTC facilities. I have been a CNA for the past 5 years, just shy of 6 years and love my job. I recently just worked at a hospital for a few years and had received so much experience I would love to share with you. I have worked in Rehabilitation, orthopedic/med. surg, nursing homes, palliative, Dementia/Alzheimer's, hospice, and much more. Being a CNA has brought so many opportunities to my life and I'm so thankful for that, along with the people I've met, the stories my patients have shared, and the things I've seen.

My personality consists of being extremely empathetic and patient. I'm very aware that at a certain time in all of our lives, we will all need the help of others in some way. Caregiving is an excellent way to develop new skills, learn to listen, and make a difference in someone's life. The vocation of caregiving requires heart. It's not a job, caregiving is a calling. One of the most important caregiver qualities is compassion. Understanding what their patient is going through is of the utmost importance in this line of work. A few personal achievements of mine are when I've been requested by those I've provided care for over and over because they felt comfortable with me and that their needs were being met.

I became a caregiver because it fufills my heart, mind , and soul. I get great satisfaction knowing that I can help keep a person safely and comfortably in their home. Meeting new people and their families has given me a lot of knowledge to use for the next job I am fortunate to receive. My years of experience have taught me to have patience and compassion for each person because everybody is different in their own way. I have raised an incredible teenager who is thriving in life. One of the things I am most proud of is that I took care of my mother who was dying of lung cancer. I was the best advocate for her that I could be. I kept her safe and comfortable to live out the last days of her life. I have done a little of everything in the medical field. I have worked in the ER, assisted living, home health and hospice and live in private duty. When I am not working I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time with my family.
