I am a mature woman with over 25 years caring for people of all ages and walks of life. I have bachelor degrees in Family Life and Human Development and in Nursing. I was a registered nurse for 25 years. I have extensive experience in home care, and especially enjoy home care because it gives me a chance to work in an environment in which people are the most comfortable. I enjoy becoming a part of each client's life and in meeting family members and friends. I have found I have a knack for building rapport with clients. I believe in treating each client in a holistic manner, and in communicating with him/her as a person, not as the condition for which he/she is receiving services. Growing up after losing my grandfather and bestfriend to hospice I have always wanted to be a nurse. I personally think I'm home care is the right fit for me because I can have more one on one time to give care and companionship to residents. I love working with the elderly and listening to all the amazing things they experienced in their life.

I don't believe in rushing because that is when you make mistakes! Take your time with your patients and care for them like you would want to be cared for when you get older. Or if they were your loved one! Let them know that you can be trusted. Keep them safe and their home safe from falls. Wash their face, comb their hair, brush their teeth, etc....make them feel good and refreshed! Respect their religion and ask questions! Listen to them and pay attention to what they are telling you. Respect them and their home! I love helping others that have a hard time helping themselves. It's rewarding to me and it comes from my HEART! I have helped my whole family who have passed in their home with cancer, heart problems, Parkinson's disease, and not one went to a nursing home! This is why I became a CNA! It gave me such gratitude and made me feel good to see them smile at me everyday for making them feel good! When I walk through a patients front door I walk into Their home! With a smile on my face leaving my problems behind me! It's all about the PATIENT! The Patient Always Comes First!!
