Alzheimer disease, the most common cause of dementia, is caused by irregular protein deposits that form plaques and tangles. The damage leads to neuron death and impairs cognitive function, affecting memory, speech, behavior, and reasoning. Symptoms of early Alzheimer include confusion, forgetfulness, vision problems, poor judgment, and mood changes. More advanced cases might involve difficulty eating, walking, and communicating.
Caregivers for people with Alzheimer can help with a daily routine to promote consistency, food preparation, exercise, transportation and create a secure area to prevent wandering, among other basic needs. It is important to set up an advanced directive early on to give your loved one the opportunity to choose an advocate.

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. Making life easy and comfortable in your own home. Helping with everyday needs and chores. The thing I love most about being a caregiver is the fact that. Caring for someone other than your self is a blessing. The biggest achievement I am proud of is over coming things in my life. To the point where I want to help others over come things in they life. I'm 39 years old. I have been taking care of other people for over half of my life. I love living I love life and I love helping others live their life to the fullest.
I am a caring and compassionate person. I am patient and kind. I grew up volunteering at the nursing home my mother worked at. I enjoyed getting to know people and hearing their histories. Taking care of my grandmother with Alzheimer's disease taught me patience and sparked an interest in how the mind works. It is vital to know that clients are people trying to have the best quality of life possible. It is a privilege to be the person helping someone to maintain their dignity. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver would be the ability to make the person I take care of feel as independent and happy as possible. To help someone maintain as much function as possible or even improve their daily functioning is an uplifting experience. A personal achievement that I am proud of would be when working with hospice patients, I was able to make their transition comfortable and peaceful. To me, to take care of someone at the end of their life is the greatest privilege of all.

I wanted to be a caregiver because I just had a certain passion about taking care of someone and making them feel good. I am personally proud of myself for graduating my senior and working with seniors and sharing that experience with them it made me 10x happier to let them know "hey I'm graduating on May 17 " and everybody would hug me and it truly made me feel amazing. I am proud of the day I decided to become a CNA, I think back to my grandmother. Taking care of her let me knew this was something I would love to do. And she encouraged me to do so. She told me that I have the heart for this line of work, and that's the kind of person people like to take care of them, a person that has a heart for the job they do.
