I became a caregiver because I did not want to work in main stream Healthcare anymore. My passion is helping seniors the way they and their family's want to be cared for without Healthcare systems making the choices for their care. I worked as a physical therapy assistant for 27 years. The last 8 were in a rehabilitation department at a skilled nursing facility. I have enjoyed the last 9 years doing private home care as a caregiver. Helping individuals live their lives with dignity, safety and loving care.

My patience, my listening skills, and my care for the residents, I think makes me a great caregiver! I worked in a kitchen for 12 years at a nursing home and knew I could proved more for the residents then just serving meals and making them coffee, also I took care of my mother the last 6 months of her life and that alone made a huge change in my career path! I enjoy the conversations the residents have with me. I love hearing their life stories about their kids and grandkids! I enjoy waking up knowing that I'm going to make their day or they are going to make mine. I'm a proud mother of two young children!

I grew up in a big family and value those special relationships. I realize a lot of people don't have a big family to rely on and I'm here to help fill that need. I have been a caregiver for my whole career, starting fresh out of high school. I was very close with my grandmother, her parents, and my great-great grandmother which is why I believe I am a compassionate and diligent caregiver. I treat each member as I do my own family. I was raised in a family of all nurses. I had a strong interest in helping others so I took the CNA course. I have been a CNA and have been actively working as a CNA since 2009. I have worked in all different types of settings, such as hospitals. nursing homes, private care duties, group homes, and home care. I love to give back to people that are in need of help. I was born and raised in Aroostook County, Maine until almost 3 years ago I relocated to southern maine for work reasons and of course to be with my now husband.
