What makes me a great caregiver is making sure my client is happy at all times. I became a caregiver because I like helping people. What I like the most about being a caregiver is knowing I'm doing something good to help others in need. Personal achievement Iam proud of is being a caregiver for 7 years +:)

My name is Michelle I am a proud mom of three grown sons and blessed nana to five little boys. I truly believe that senior caregiving is my gift from God . I am a very loving and patient person with a big heart. I did childcare for eight years while my boys were young and also have experience working as a paraprofessional in the school district with emotional and behavioral disturbed children. I adopted a grandma and grandpa about 25 years ago ... OK not really adopted them however became very special friends with them as they filled the void in my life because my dad passed away at a early age. This sweet couple would come to my house for meals , play with my kids , attend their school functions and cheer them on from the sideline during baseball and basketball games. Fast forward they needed a family to help care for them as they aged. I would bring the boys over to visit take them to their doctor abs dentist appointments, grocery shopping , assist with meal prep for the week and filling the daily pill containers. We'd enjoy mini day trips to see the changing leaves and wildlife. I'd also take them to friends funerals ect. I'd just help them with needs that they had until it was too hard for them to live at home and then I would visit them twice a week at the care facility . It was going to the care facility that I realized that was my dream job to help and spend time with the elderly unfortunately however my regular job of real estate sales provided the income I needed so I've been spending time since they're passing working part time at the nursing homes. It makes me feel good to make a difference in others lives!

I just like to work with the individuals that needs help, because I used to work at dementia care unit for almost 9 years here in Dassel. I just quit last August 24th 2018 and part time at AME community (group home) for 3 years now. I like communicating with the clients and help them out when they needs help and sometimes there is a challenge, but that is part of a job too. Provides the best care to the clients.

I worked in assisted living for 6 months, and then went to the nursing home, where I am currently employed. I also did PCA work for a middle school aged boy with Downs Syndrome when I was in high school. I thoroughly enjoy taking care of people and knowing I can show them love and support any time they need it! Knowing that I can help impact someone's life is an amazing feeling!
