Hello, I'm Jennafer. I previously worked for a VA Medical Center as a nurses aid. I loved my job, unfortunately I moved and it was too far in distance. I am CPR certified, and have experience with most common elderly illnesses and diseases. I worked with a lot of patients suffering from either dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, urinary, respiratory, cardiopulmonary, restorative, and more. I absolutely enjoy making people happy and being part of people's lives, which is one reason I believe makes me great at care giving. I love to talk and companionship is a big plus for me in the healthcare field. I am very compassionate about the care I provide and I enjoy the friendships I get to make. I am always looking for ways and opportunities to better my skills and care. Just for a little extra info, I do speak some spanish, however not too fluent; I also play several musical instruments in which I got to share music with some of the residents I cared for. My name is Patricia ! I work with individuals with severe mental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional. I am looking for a new job closer to my new home. I am First Aid, CPR, and MAP Certified. I also have a long list of other certifications I can provide for you. The individuals I work with have serious medical issues such as seizures, hip dysplasia, spinal stenosis and other diagnoses such as Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, and Autism. I also have experience with Alzheimer's. I assist with all activities of daily life such as showering, toileting, grooming, cooking, feeding, and also having fun! Pretty much anything you need to do to live. Another thing that I really enjoy doing with my individuals is accompanying them to doctors appointments. My personality traits are caring, funny, determined and helpful I have always taken care of people with disabilities, old and or mental health issues and substance abuse as well. I was born to be a caregiver that's all I see myself doing. I love it..it may get hard at times but I love the work and the people. I am currently a House Manager at a community for adults with special needs, managing all aspects of a home for two residents and two live-in coworkers, including personal care, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, scheduling, and basic home maintenance. I also provide weekly Reiki treatments for some of our residents. I love what I do and have been told by the families of my residents that their loved ones are thriving under my care. I am looking for a private care opportunity, supporting an individual with disabilities or an elder care situation. My calming presence along with being creative, intuitive and a natural nurturer would provide a safe, loving environment for your loved one to flourish.

I started in 2020 by getting my LNA license finally after working at maplewood nursing home for almost 5 years . The relationships ,and bonds that I formed with my residents is what meant the most to me .That I could help them with anything extra ,anything to maybe turn their day or moment from negative to positive .I have a very big heart and take pride in what I do . I am a very hard worker ,but also a very good listener . Past and current jobs have told me that they like my judgement and kind heart the most . I enjoy every aspect of LNA work,and also the homecare I am doing . I am hoping to start nursing school for my RN next fall . I am always looking forward to new people and helping whoever I can .I also grew up as a kid going to care facililities where my father had always worked .doing activities ,watching tv with them ,or like I said just LISTENING . So I have had a spot in my heart for this kind of work for a long time . I am always on time if not early . I grew up with my grandparent. As they got older, so did I and I helped my grandfather through his chemo treatments until he passed away. My grandmother suffered from a stroke which I helped her recover from. My uncle was also in a car accident when I was young in which he became paralyzed. I find joy in helping people live their daily lives to the best of their abilities

I have been a cna and home care worker for over 20 yrs. I enjoy helping people and careing for elderly. It has to be one of the most rewarding jobs next to being a mom in the world. When I can be there to either help them in everyday needs all the way to the final days of life. Not only have I enjoy it but I have met some amazing and wonderful people that have affected me in positive ways.
