I hope to bring a smile each day to every client I work with; I'm a very positive person and reliable. I have nearly 30 years experience in the healthcare field. I was working in a factory setting in my youth and really was not happy. I saw an ad for a CNA class at the Rochester Manor, so by keeping my job and taking the class at night, I was able to learn a whole new career, which has been so gratifying. The people that I have been able to meet over the years are truly inspiring, and they all have a story to tell, and I enjoy lending an ear.

Hello! My name is Kim. I have been a caregiver for 30 years, having taken off time while my daughter was in high school. I have an extensive amount of experience ranging from cancers to dementias to end of life and so much more. I would be happy to share. I am also an advocate, friend and offer support for both the patient and family. The expectations and standards I set for myself are: 1) Dignity and respect 2) When I walk into someone's home, I'm walking into their world. I dont expect them to walk into mine. Its about them and their needs. 3) Everyone is an individual. Same diagnosis does not mean the same kind of care. My care is based on the individual and their wants and needs. 4) Patience and being a great listener. How else will I know what is needed and wanted. I have provided care for many people. I have worked with both children and adults with developmental disabilities and during the course of this work I was able to maintain patience and empathy. I was attracted to the idea of care giving as I enjoy helping others achieve a higher quality of life as well as offering comfort and companionship. I enjoy seeing even the smallest of achievements and making a positive day for someone. One of my proudest achievements was working with a young man who went from hiding in his room to running a chess club.

My name is Connie and my mother's name was Carol. I took care of her until her early death at 53 for 10 years. She had MS. After being in the veterinary field for 20 years, I've gained a level of comfortability with all things clinical and medical. I adore the elderly and have experience with Alzheimer patients and those with dementia. I think I would make a great addition to your family's health care plan and can really make a difference in your loved ones daily life. I'm a happy person and try to bring that to my clients everyday.

My greatest passion is people. Seeing them connect with others and helping them reach their greatest potential whatever season of life they may be experiencing. Family connections are very important to me. Being a mother of five daughters and grandmother to many grandchildren, I see the vital role of family connections, friendships and personal interactions which are needed to create a healthy environment. One special moment I facilitated, was to invite the local editor of the newspaper to interview my current veteran client on his 90th birthday. I had also organized his two best friends who are veterans, and also turning 90 in the same month to attend. It was a privilege to hear their stories and help capture this unique moment.

I've been a caregiver for about 3 years now. I've always liked helping people and seeing people grow. I started working with kids, being an assistant teacher at cowabungas and working at an all girls camp. Then I went into caregiving for the elderly with Home Instead. I've taken courses for dementia and Alzheimer's. I love building a connection with the people I work with and helping them achieve the things they are working towards.

I worked as a private caregiver for 5 years with an elderly couple until the end of their lives. I provided companionship, prepared meals, administered medications, assisted with exercises prescribed by the physical therapist, drove them wherever they needed to go, did some grocery shopping, and provided palliative care. I am the mother of a 15-year-old teenager and a 2.5-year-old child, and I also work part-time at Amica Retirement Place. When I look back on my 15 years of working as a Licensed nurses assistant I like to think about the people that made me who I am, with each senior I helped or assisted I learned something new, I learned about my self as well, I have a lot of compassion for seniors because of my own grandparents who I loved more then life it self.I treat people they way I wanted my own family to be treated. I enjoy home care because you get to know people, seniors love to talk about their life stories and I enjoy listing to them.It was one of the main reasons for me going into home care because I love to hear about the old days of long ago, and I love being around the elderly because they have a lot more to say that what people think, I like being around people who are nice funny and just good people.
