I have some experience with those who need extra care! I was in training to become a CNA, and worked as a task aide for United Helpers for a summer where I provided assistance, companionship and cleaning for elderly residents. I also love helping my grandparents around the house when they need it. Seeing how many people need help with their own family members inspired me to find extra work as a caregiver to help others as well as providing extra income for my own growing family. Being able to put a smile on someone's face and leaving a lasting impression on someone is a great accomplishment for me.

Ever since I was a little girl I have had a knack for caregiving. I have always liked to take care of others and make sure their needs are fulfilled. I thoroughly take pride in assisting others with living their best life while assisting them with living in their own home as long as they possibly can. I love bringing smiles to their faces . They become almost family to you . Something I am really proud of is helping my aunt open up a program through our church for the disabled. It was one of my biggest achievements . Thats when I fell in love with this career path !

I became a caregiver because I wanted to help make a difference in quality of life for those that needed help. I find it very rewarding when I know I am able to emotionally and physically support someone that is not able to do things on their own whether it be to help wash, dress, assist to medical appointments, shopping cleaning or just providing companionship. I began as a direct care support staff 13 years ago for Jefferson Rehabilitation Center in Watertown, NY. In 2004 I moved to Massachusettes and became Direct Care Staff for Turning Point located in Newburyport Ma. for 3 years. I have been doing private home care for a 90 yr old woman for the last 7+ years during which time I acquired my CNA certification and more recently I completed a Hospice course in October of this year.
