I started caregiving for my grandmother who was suffering from dementia. Being a good caregiver requires a lot of patience. I provide that to people in my care and hope to assist them in ways that improve their quality of life. One of my greatest accomplishments as a caregiver was seeing someone recover cognitive ability after switching from nursing home to in home care.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

I have worked in places from the ER, to the hospitals, nursing homes and in people's homes. I believe your loved one has the right to live the best life they can even when they are not feeling their best, battling a sickness or are elderly. It's not my job to be their boss as I work for them. I enjoy seeing them still do whatever they can to live the best life they can. I love helping people it gives me a sense of joy and warms my soul. It makes me a better person, it has taught me patience and to enjoy every moment of everyday even when it's not the greatest of days. I am proud of the mom I am. I am a 51 year old mature mom of 2 adult kids. I am an artist in my spare time. I enjoy reading, taking walks and nature. I play guitar and enjoy singing:) I love people and learning about them and their life. I am very patient and kind & enjoy helping.

I am a local companion aide who has been in this field for over 15 years. Outside of providing care throughout the week I offer one on one attention on-site or in home for your loved one during special events such as weddings and birthday parties so you may enjoy the day with ease & comfort knowing that they are in safe hands. I specialize with the Alzheimer's and Dementia community as well as special needs. I am a volunteer with Hospice and I'm looking to fulfill this role when requested as well. I have been a CNA for over 20 years. I started when I was 19 and fell in love with taking care of the elderly. I worked in Nursing Homes the majority of my career but within the last 3 years, have been doing in home private care. I love doing private care because it allows me the one on one time with my client that I was unable to have while working in a busy nursing home setting.
