I am a happy, caring person who finds spending time with the elderly is so rewarding for both myself, and the client alone. I have physical limitations that keep me from some duties, but I do what I can quickly, efficiently, and with compassion.

My grandmother was on hospice when I was a young girl. I saw how grateful my grandmother was and how much her caregiver touched my Grandmother's life. Ever since I wanted to make a difference and touch the lives of others. I have been a CNA for three years now, and I take pride in taking care of others. I want to make a difference in the life of every patient that I see . I not only want to be there for the patient but for their family too.

I worked in the food service for 35 yrs needed to find something different. A friend needed someone to look after her husband after a car accsident worked for him for 2yrs then applied to the state of wa. & became a caregiver for the copes program I have worked for them for 7yrs. The wife &I are moving to toledo,or. in september & need to find work.& I like to work with the elderly.

I love helping people. I am very compassionate and patient. I have a passion for the elderly and think they should be treated with dignity and respect. I love to listen to stories of days gone by and learn from their experience. Not only do I feel I can enrich these peoples lives, I feel I am enriched as well. I initially went int the field of Medical Assisting in order to make a difference in the lives of our older population. As a child of seven I started doing volunteer work with my grandmother at nursing homes. This has continued throughout my lifetime. As a young mother I took my babies to visit the patient/residents of nursing homes that did not get visitors. While I was earning my degree I worked at an assisted living at night. I especially enjoyed being in the dementia unit. After I completed my degree I moved to Lincoln City to be near my mother who is not in good health. She has a caregiver and I am here as her daughter. I do help out to give my father and her caregiver a break.

The reason I became a caregiver is to provide a service to individuals and families which they are no longer able to perform for themselves . With my comprehensive knowledge of health and safety and nutrition and housekeeping, I believe I would be an integral part of the wellness of those individuals whom I would be in their employ. Over the years I have volunteered for many community activities and causes. It has always been very important for me to give back to the communities that I reside in and create bonds and relationships with those whom I consider my neighbors. Many people think I have a sunny and cheery disposition and have often been called "Sunshine" for my happy demeanor.
