What makes me a great caregiver ?? I started out as doing this job because I wanted to learn how to take care of my aunt , I ended up enjoying helping people so it became a job I wanted to do . I plan to become a RN and this was just a foot in the door but I'm glad I did it .

Helping someone come out of her second stroke she's 92 and I am still caring for her. Hi my name is April. I have worked in this field since I was 15 I knew then that I loved taking care of people and that people loved me. I always have a good personality and a smile on my face. I took care of my grandfather at home until he passed away and also both of my parents. My father became paralyzed after a hunting trip and I brought him home and took care of him that's how I learned trach care and feeding tube care. And currently I have an uncle who has a mass in his throat and I've been taking care of him at home since last December he also has a trach and a feeding tube. I have always stepped up and brought my family members home to care for instead of being placed in a nursing home.There I know they always are short staffed and patients can't get the care they need like they can at a home setting with just one aide.
