Hi my name is April. I have worked in this field since I was 15 I knew then that I loved taking care of people and that people loved me. I always have a good personality and a smile on my face. I took care of my grandfather at home until he passed away and also both of my parents. My father became paralyzed after a hunting trip and I brought him home and took care of him that's how I learned trach care and feeding tube care. And currently I have an uncle who has a mass in his throat and I've been taking care of him at home since last December he also has a trach and a feeding tube. I have always stepped up and brought my family members home to care for instead of being placed in a nursing home.There I know they always are short staffed and patients can't get the care they need like they can at a home setting with just one aide.

Hi! I have been doing this for about 6 years & have loved it since! I love being able to help keep their independence but know that I will always be there if they need help, with anything, big or small. I enjoy being that companion for them. Letting them have someone be in their presence to talk to, rely on, anything. I feel like I have grown so much in this field of work. Not only that, but nursing will always have a special place in my heart! I look forward to meeting new people & building good, healthy bonds with them!

I always treat my clients as if they were my family. I always loved helping my mother with my great uncle he got into a automobile accident in his late 20's and became paralyzed from the neck down and couldn't do much for himself my mom was his caregiver and I always tagged along. After caring for him I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I enjoy sitting down and getting to know each one of my clients. I'm so grateful my mom took in the opportunity to care for my uncle if it wasn't for her taking that role I don't know where I would be today. I absolutely love what I do.
