I'm highly motivated to give the best care possible to anyone I care for. I'm familiar with home care and have 6 years of experience. I enjoy helping people to get back to a good quality of life. Even with the most difficult people, I welcome the chance to help them. It's worth it because everyone is worth it.

I have been in caregiving since as long as I can remember growing up, my mom was a surgical scrub nurse. My sister went to nursing school did not like the side of blood lol sister-in-law's are nurses in high school. I became obsessed with the television show emergency that did it for me. I became a junior volunteer with the Henrico rescue squad I lived in Hanover. They did not have a squad for juniors yet after high school. I decided to attend school for medical laboratory technology. I've always been interested in the microscope back part of life. Intriguing worked at St Mary's laboratory, for about 13 years and decided to become a nurse very hard to do when you're not living at home, not an excuse many people do it, but I took the education and worked as a caregiver. Nursing assistant nurse tech and enjoyed helping those who cannot help themselves and to show how to cope and manage what you can do.

The qualities that help me with elderly care are being energetic, compassionate and understanding. I was an activities assistant for a nursing home. I was often a companion to many residents. I enjoyed sitting with residents. We watched their favorite shows, read magazines, played games, etc. I love the connection I had with my residents. I also enjoyed the humor and carefree spirit of my residents. I had several achievements while working with residents. My favorite was of a lady that didn't like being around anyone. I began to visit her and she slowly began responding. After several weeks, we became friends and I would sit and talk about her family. One day, I invited her to Bingo and she accepted. She truly enjoyed it and I was so happy!

I am a very patient and compassionate person. I enjoy helping people and take pride in the care I provide to individuals in need. When I put myself in someone else's shoes, I can better gauge what types of care they need most. I love making someone's life better because I'M involved in their life as it's very satisfying to help someone. I'm most happy when I make a positive impact in someone's day or life. I am Certified Nurse Assistant in the Commonweath of Virginia.

I have great communication skills and am loving, kind, caring, compassionate and most of all patient. I can do whatever it takes to make your loved one comfortable which includes lite cooking, cleaning, running errands, medication reminders, bathing /dressing, companionship and feeding if necessary. When a loved one went into rehab after being in the hospital and finding that the level of care he received while in the nursing home was awful I swore I would help those who needed genuinely good care. I was able to witness those who were not treated fairly and could not speak up for themselves in these homes and family members who were caught between a rock and a hard spot not being able to be there or care for their loved one in their home, my heart went out to them. I love helping people and putting a smile on someone's face. My cases have involved dealing with dementia patients, patients with mobility issues, bed ridden, hospice care and just someone who needs a friend to listen and someone who really cares about them. I am proud to say that those families that I have cared for have been very happy with my services That puts a smile on my face and says I've done a job well done.
