I have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for almost four years and have worked with a multitude of individuals with different medical issues. I have always had a natural desire to help others and I knew from a very young age that I was going to be in the medical field. Becoming a CNA was one of the greatest things I have done because it has allowed me to not only help others, but it has also taught me a lot. I decided to become a caregiver because it is something I love. My name is Ramona and I have lived in the LC valley for 24 years. I have a 23 year old daughter. I became a caregiver because I love helping families and the elderly and making their life easier. I like being a caregiver because it gives me a self gratification and it is something I enjoy. A personal achievement I am proud of is being able to treat disease processes adequately and give the care needed properly.

I am a great caregiver because I understand that one of the most important parts included in the care provided to an individual is companionship. Companionship is such an important part in care because a real human connection helps with mental and emotional well being. Taking care of physical well being is incredibly important but is only half the job. I learned this while caring for my grandmother near the end of her life. My experience started with her and moved on to caring for a wonderful woman named Majorie until she had to go into assisted living. After that I got a job working at a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Each person I have cared for has taught me so much about doing my job better. They have taught me about caring for the whole person, not just their physical needs but their mental and emotional needs as well. Hi everyone! My name is Brittany. I'm 21 years old, and I've been caregiving for about 4 years now. I began working in the care field when my grandma required help after a fall that broke her hip. I moved in with her, assisting with all ADLs. During this time, I also began caregiving for a paraplegic man at night and on the weekends. Eventually I moved in with him so I could be of assistance at all times of the day. When this job ended for me, I began working my first facility caregiving job at The Beehive. My favorite part of being a caregiver is bonding with my residents and doing everything in my power to make their day great. I'm often complimented on my even temper and patience. I always treat my residents with respect and I feel that I am respected more by them because of it.
