I am a Navy Veteran. I received the Purple Heart for my efforts in Afghanistan. I've also received multiple Navy medals and achievements while serving in Iraq, Kuwait and here in the states. I have learned to be patient, compassionate, thorough, very dependable, trustworthy, honest and attentive. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful daughters. Zoey is twelve and Makenna is ten. My husband is still in the Navy. He is a Submarine IDC (Independent Duty Corpsman) and he makes me proud everyday. I love my family and me working as a caregiver makes them proud as much as it makes me proud. I love being able to say I help people for a living.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. Part of that time I was a Medical Assistant. I became a caregiver originally to help family members, and found that I enjoyed it so much that I made it my career. I am most proud of the fact that I make lives better and increase the social life of my clients.

I am an experienced caregiver that is compassionate about what I do. My client is always my first priority. I provide excellent care and provide dignity and respect. I'm a mother of two and a daughter. My mom lives with me. I'm a military spouse. I'm very compassionate, understanding and have big heart for elderly. I grew up with my grandparents since my father passed before I knew him. And my grandparents passed before I can give them the care they need. For that reason alone give me motivation to give the love for my grandparents that they never had from me to passed it on to other elderly people. I always treat them as my own grandparents. I have my CPR and BLS. I have food handling permit. I have my NAR and working to my CNA next month. Taking some of my pre-requisite to my Nursing degree.

I grew up taught to respect my elders and in doing so learned that seniors are just young adults in an aging body. I learned about the frustrations and the difficulties of doing things that used to be easy, about the depressing, and sometimes humiliating, fact of having to depend on another for daily living activities. I also learned of the joy of sharing time, stories, humor and life experiences, and the rewards that come from it for both parties. I currently live on a small hobby farm that includes horses, a donkey, chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits and even a turkey. I spend quite a bit of time vegetable and fruit gardening and enjoy a variety of crafts. I am also a volunteer at the local senior center. I am married, with 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren, and am fortunate enough to still have both my parents! My specialties are Cancer Care, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, Post-Acute, Memory Care, and Hospice Care. I have an innate ability to anticipate the needs of my client, both emotionally and physically. I am open and approachable, and am able to comfortably converse with my client based on their interests and experiences. I'm known for giving great baths and showers and I'm nurse delegation certified, so I can assist with catheters, insulin, wound care and more. I have a clean, dependable car and insurance. I am willing to transport to appointments, outings and events or just stay home together. I began working in a nursing home while in high school. I enjoyed taking the time to care for my clients in the home on a daily basis. For 40 intermittent years I have care for many different types of people who needed assistance and help with their daily lives. I very much enjoy caring for alzheimers patients and also dementia. I've worked with Parkinson's disease clients, multiple sclerosis, The sheer fact of making their responsibilities easier satisfies me.
