About Stacy

Hi my name is Stacy, I'm 53 yrs. Old. I became a caregiver after the loss of my grandmother. Seeing what my mother went through trying to care for her with very little help with my family other than my sister who lived in the same town and state and was the only one who could personally help my grandmother and mother. After seeing what my mom and sister went through I decided that working as a preschool teacher just wasn't enough for me anymore. So I went to work for a local company here in Fort Smith, AR. And my first night on the job I was sent to a client's home and wasn't informed by anyone that the client's family had all been called to his home to say thier goodbyes he passed away 30 minutes after I got there. It broke my heart to watch his family going through this but it made me feel good that I was able to be there to just care for his basic care so his family could just spend their time with no worries. After that I lost my mother and went through the same thing and was great full that we had a hospice nurse who not only came to care for mother but she took time out of her day to make sure that my sister and myself were doing okay as well. This is when I knew that being a caregiver was my true calling. I want to be able to be the who can help relieve a family some of their worries so they can have as much time with their loved ones and not have to worry about their basic needs knowing that I was there to take on that roll for them . This is my way of paying it forward.

Here I worked the 3 to 11 and the 11 to 7 shifts so my responsibilities were different on both shifts. 3-11 I was responsible for mail delivery, helping in kitchen with dinner. Cleaning up the dining room and kitchen, going to residents rooms and gathering up trash from dinner. Assisting residents with getting ready for bed. Two hour checks for the residents with dementia and Alzheimer's, or have been sick or just coming back from a hospital stay. Stock supplies for the next shift. Setting up dining room for breakfast meal, sweeping and mopping kitchen and dining room. 11-7 maintain the two hours checks, finish the dining room if the 3 to 11 didn't have time to do. Laundry for residents and delivery of laundry. Laundry for staff. Cleaning and sanitizing common area's. Assisting residents with getting up in the morning and getting them to dining room for breakfast. Let morning staff know how the night went and let the med texts know of any changes in clients.
