Hey there! My name is Laura and I think to be a great caregiver you must have compassion and empathy. You must also have great communication skills, and most importantly you must have patience. I wanted to be a caregiver because being able to provide assistance, support, and companionship to those in need makes me feel good. The thing I love the most about being a caregiver is being apart of someone's life and being able to hopefully make a positive impact on them.

I have always told others that I not medically inclined until almost three years ago my now 5 year old grand son almost drowned in our pool. Man had given upon him surviving. His parents were told that they would be provided with medically assisted suicide. To this day I have been thankful they did not go that route. I learned how to perform trachea change, g-tube feeding and administer medications via his G-tube, comfort him, I have talked many through and even out of major depression. I cared for my parents and grandmother who was a diabetic and those who had high blood pressure just to mention a few. I realized during these transitions that being a caregiver is such a critical player in a time of need because many family members are unable to stop their day to day lives and provide that much needed attention for their live ones. I promise to be loving and caring to your loved ones, they need the care and attention I have to offer.
