Hey, I'm Shakara Boles and for over the last 2 years and 4 months I been working with resident in a nursing home. I have a bachelors in psychology. But some where along the way I just fell in love with taking care of people. I knew that I wanted to help people but did not know it was by becoming a CNA. I'm very hardworking, determined, kind hearted, loving, and caring. Also ontop of working I am a mother of a 5 year old daughter and 6 months ago added another child into my daily routine my 4 year old niece. I'm a cheer coach ontop of that but never is to busy to take care of everything that's need to be done. I really didn't know what I would be doing after graduating school but before I graduated from college; I took a CNA course to make extra money but after doing it for so long I just fell in love with it all and I just couldn't leave it. I enjoy every moment about being a caregiver because I know I'm making a big difference into someone else life especially someone family member that they care for. It's never a dual moment having this as a career but it helps motivate you and keep you up on your toes to make sure that someone that is not related to you get all the help they need. I am proud of everything I have accomplish in my life time because I'm making a future that not only for me but my child and niece as well. One thing I am proud of that I can say is that becaming a CNA was the best decision I made because it helped me to become a better person and my love has grown even more because of this. I would not change any decision I made to become one.

For 25 years I worked as a retail pharmacist and I have always loved talking to people and helping them understand their medicines. However, I have really enjoyed the satisfaction that comes from providing one on one care. I have been an in home caregiver for over a year now and I love learning from my clients. One has taught me some amazing old recipes and another loves telling me about life when she was a little girl almost 90 years ago. I love bringing a smile to my clients' faces and a sense of calm and peace to their lives.

I'm very outgoing and patient to my companion needs and listen to them My sister died at age 21 and she had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, I watched my mom take care of her as well helping my mom take care of her and it was her (Brandi)is the reason o love taking care old and young.I get great joy of helping people be happy.

I am a very caring person. I hate to see people in need and not help. I became a caregiver because I wanted to be help to those who couldn't help themselves. I enjoy what I do.

I am 20 years old, and I wanted to become a caregiver because I thoroughly enjoy helping people in need. I plan to become a Registered Nurse so I can further my career in care giving. I am patient when it comes to taking care of the elderly, I am highly respectful of them and let them set the pace when there is a certain everyday living activity we are accomplishing; I do my best to encourage them and let them make decisions about their care so they can stay as independent as possible, and it is my personal goal each day to walk in with a smile on my face to ensure that my patient and their families know I am more than happy to help them in any way that I can. I am also very understanding when it comes to families worrying about certain things with their lived one(s) and do my best to assure them that I will always keep my patient's best interest at heart. I do my best to comfort families during the grieving process when their loved one(s) pass away by praying for them and telling them they will be in my prayers, and that God will be with them through the difficult time.

I have always been the type of person that loves helping others. I never look at it as being a job. I've always treated my patient like family, as someone I love and care about. Seeing elderly in need is what attracted me as being a caregiver. I enjoy the smile on my paitents face, knowing I was able to help and care for them. A personal achievement that I am proud of is the volunteer work I do for the kids at the local park. Volunteeing my time for a few hours out the week, can make a big difference to the children.

I am currently a full time student at Alabama State University. I graduate May 2020 and plan on going back to school to obtain a doctorate degree in physical therpy. During my down time I like shopping, reading, and traveling.

Hello my name is Gabrielle Harris I'm 22 years old and I have been a certified nursing assistant since I've graduated in 2014. Being a cna/caregiver just comes natural to me. It's just in my nature to take care of people that need the help. I have a very caring spirit it's what keeps me going. I am CPR certified and I have no kids so I have a very flexible schedule. My Husband became very sick several years ago and was in a coma and I knew then I wanted to be a caregiver. I also help my home bound parents also. I am very dependable, trustworthy and a honest person who will treat your loved one with love and respect. I also work part time for a home health agency and am CPR and first aid trained.
