My goal is to become a traveling nurse I've worked as a personal care attendant as well as home health care aid for almost 2 years , I have my FIRST AID & CPR certificate .

Started out doing Home health I anlwaya could convince my patients/ residents to shower or eat & calm then down or just hold space for them according to their needs or wishes. I have 18 yrs experience as a caregiver for elderly, disabled individuals. I have a history of being a CNA, Rehab assistant, and a sitter. I enjoy being able to aid these individuals maintain their quality of life, whether it means helping with showers, meals, household chores or running errands, among other services.

I retired10 years ago and wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Got a job at Walmart and discovered very little opportunities to reach people. Heard of homecare and attended CNA classes at Manor at Bluewater Bay, FL. To get professional training went to work in Nursing home owned by Signature Health Services, a large organization. Despite the glowing accolades of superior services, I discovered very little time and cut corners on cleaning residents messes, shoving food before they finished swallowing and excuses for not answering call lights. This has prompted me to cut my planned 12-24 month experience short and go into one on one caregiving. I quit a job in SC to go assist my 95-year-old Father. Then accompanied my wife when she sat with clients, I did the cooking (Healthful, tasty and attractive meals) housecleaning, laundry and driving to Drs appointments, shopping trips, visiting, chatting, and playing games with the clients. Have worked well with both Male and Female clients.

I have been a Home Health Aide for, altogether, 10 years. Not including caring for sick family members. I have always enjoyed working with elderly and disabled individuals. I have always wanted to help people since I was very young.

What makes me a good caregiver is I can stay calm in stressful situations. I'm a great listener and im good with people. And in good at taking care of other people. I enjoy taking care of people. It makes me feel Like im useful. And makes me happy knowing I am capable of taking care of someone.
