My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have been doing in home senior care for 2+ years. With a local company. I care for my Mother on all post-op situations. I also give her support care weekly. I have just completed the AR CNA course testing out at: 100%+5 written, and 99% clinical. I will test with the state soon. I am out going.l, Self- motivated, and am a stickler for the rules and proceedires. I am most proud of my ability to connect with and advocate for residents/clients.

I love one on one time with the clients it makes for a better experience. I became a caregiver after my grandmother got sick and needed help & its always been a huge passion of mine to help other family's that need the help. I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. I think what makes me a good caregiver is the good comments from the family about myself and that is a complement about my job, I became a caregiver because is a job the have so much rewarding! I like to be a caregiver because you make good friends and treat your patient as they were part of your family, is little challenging at times! I have been a caregiver most of my life. I started my career as a CNA and eventually became an LPN. I took an early retirement from nursing in 2015 to help raise my grandsons but have continued in the home care field.
