Caregiving is a second career for me and one I have returned to after my 18 year career with Home Depot as an assistant manager. I have been a caregiver my entire adult life. As a retired RN, I have been focusing on caring for the senior population. This began with caring for my own mother for 5 years. Elder care is very rewarding. I love getting to know each client and try to personalize the care they receive. This often includes talking to family members and getting input as to what brings joy to each clients life, as well getting the clients to tell me about their lives. In other words each person has different likes and dislikes, and different physical and emotional needs. It is extremely important to me to treat each and every client with respect and dignity, and to help them maintain as much independence as they are capable of.

I keep a very positive attitude. I also have a good sense of humor, and very dependable. My compassion shows instantly for the elderly. What attracted me to caregiving is a look of innocence in my clients eyes, a childlike essence. What I enjoy most are the stories my clients have shared, the knowledge and wisdom I gain , what a wonderful bonus.
