My family has had a few members who needed hospice care and I was there . I have helped from getting folks up in the morning until it was time for bed in the evening . I started with the State of California taking certification classes to help someone needing double hip replacements and couldn't walk and was recovering from breast cancer. Today, she is a walking survivor! Next I joined Phoenix Health Care and took classes on immobile patients such as transferring and changing bedding. I was sent to several different situations including a hospice patient. My last position was with an elderly woman in her home that had several serious issues, one of which was COPD. It became a joyful experience when, after working with her diet and routines, that she actually became symptom free and actually wanted to participate in activities again. Caregiving became a lifestyle for me and I was honored to be able to help in any way that was needed because I could.

Seeing them smile and happy, making sure to ensure the people I care for that they are seen and that they are not a burden or unloved but that they are loved. Making the people I care for have a sense of hope after my caretaking is very rewarding. One of my biggest personal achievements I am most proud of is becoming a mother. As well as pushing myself to go back to school and graduated college with my medical assistant diploma and graduating with high honors with a GPA of 3.93!

My dedication to my job and my patients makes me a great caregiver. I became a care giver because my grand father was very sick and I wanted to be like the aid that helped us take care of him when he was sick. I like how personal and close you become with the people you are caring for while at work. I got my CNA license while still in high school then once I received my license went to school full time and still kept up and did well while finishing the school year strong
