I am a great caregiver because I treat my clients as if they were family. I became a caregiver because I find myself taking care of people all the time. I love being able to help people feel great about themselves in any situation. I like being able to comfort, calm, and bring a smile to people as they go through the stages of their lives. Sometimes it just takes conversation, a touch, or just cheering them on. I have been a medical assistant in the past and it makes it much easier to understand the correct ways to assist people. I have been a caregiver through a company here in Tucson since 2014 and have experience providing those who need companionship, light housekeeping, medication management, care for pets, and much more. I am quite good at getting along with people and making new friends (I consider my clients friends). My clients tend to grow to like and trust me very quickly. I like being around them because they teach me new things.
Growing up in a culture where we care for our grandparents and parents in our household means I have the warmth and compassion that are utmost to be an excellent caregiver. I have always loved caring for others, even as a child. I started working in a Adult Care home in my late 20s and found my passion! I have owned 2 assisted living homes and a Senior Daycare. I have tried other occupations and have always come back to caregiving. I also work with Alzheimers and dementia patients. I am very loving, kind, and patient. I have always had a deep compassion for people and did volunteer work for San Diego Hospice before becoming a caregiver in 2009. I am one of 7 siblings and in 2009 took on the responsibility of overseeing the care of my elderly father. I became a caregiver to better understand his needs and he passed away in my home after 3 years. I have deeply connected with clients and their families over the years and have been asked to be with the client as they passed away because their family knew and appreciated how connected we had become. I have been with a meditation center for 20 years which also helped me to connect to clients.
People say that when you love what you do it shows. Well, it shows in how I care for my clients. I have loved every client; I have ever cared for, that is what makes me a great caregiver. I have a friend that believed that I would be a great caregiver. She hired me; I worked day shifts and learned a lot about care giving with my first client. I believe that care giving chose me, I am thankful it did. I am now a certified home health aide with over 6 years of experience. I am a kind, trustworthy caregiver with a very diverse skill set. I have decided to go back to college to pursue becoming a Registered Nurse. I am currently on the waiting list at Pima Community College. There is so much to love about working with seniors, I enjoy helping people live with quality and dignity. It is important to share my joy and bring brightness to my clients’ everyday lives. When clients have a medical set back or surgery it gives me joy help them regain some or most all of what they lost. That is one of the most rewarding feelings. My clients are wise, I have learned much from them. Each client holds a special place is my heart, I carry them with me wherever I go. I believe "Happy is the home with a full cookie jar.” therefore, I enjoy baking cookies and live life with zest. A few of my many talents are my organizational skills and positive get it done attitude. I hope to get to know you and work with your family!
