First and foremost I love my job, I love making a difference in people's lives Secondly I'm a mother who took care of two sweet babies by myself, so since the people we support some times need tenderness, I have all the skills to handle them with care and love Thirdly , I'm very calm and patient person, most of the patients we give care for need to be handled patiently especially those with dementia. And some patients are get problems with adjusting to new care givers in their homes, so me being a professional care giver I have the capacity to fit in and make sure they get comfortable with me.

I am a happy, healthy, compassionate, loyal, patient, loving person who found my caregiver calling late in life. I am 66 years old and have been doing this for a little over 12 years and love what I do. I started when a couple different neighbors of mine were ill and didn't have any family to help them. I had my CPR CERT so I said why not and when they were doing better I decided to make this my work. (Experience through: IHSS, CARE.COM, CARELINX & CAMBRIAN HOME CARE) The first client I had was in very bad shape when I met him, diabetes, renal failure, heart failure, living on his own, not keeping up with his meds or taking his insulin properly. I called his Dr. got him on a med schedule and with the right food, TLC and exercise he did quite well. Since then I have had several different clients, one was on hospice and others I took to Dr appts., med Mgmt. , meal prep, errands and companionship. I'm looking now because one of my clients I had been caring for since 2015, unfortunately she passed away early November. I enjoy my work and I work very hard! Thank you so much, Cindy

What attracted me to being a caregiver would be my parents with my mother having multiple hernia replacements, and my father being a dialysis patient, on top of ongoing health conditions far as diabetes etc. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is that I'm able to help someone who isn't capable of preforming their daily task on their own, knowing that I am capable with my skills and ability to provide to someone who is in need makes me nothing but honored. I've worked with Child care, autism , Alzheimer's, dementia, cancer patients, stroke and the elderly. I take them to doctors appointments, physical therapy, grocery store. I do light house keeping. Prepare all meals. Medication reminders. I assist with all bathroom needs.

I believe that I'm a great caregiver because I take pride in my work and I treat my clients as I would want my family treated. I know that it's about more than just providing care to the client, but also peace of mind to the clients family members, especially those who were or are the primary caregivers themselves. I understand that working together as a team with the family is important, but knowing when and how to manage a situation is equally as important. I love my work and making sure that my clients have the highest obtainable quality of life is important to me.

I love the challenge of working with seniors because I am rewarded by helping people of all ages.I am particularly blessed by working with older people because I have a passion for them. I enjoy listening to the stories and past experiences of the elderly.
