I became a caregiver because of my Mother she had became ill and I wanted to care for her but because I was not experienced in the health field she wanted some one who was in the health care field, so she had to go to the hospital and when I went to visit her I seen that she was in pain and uncomfortable in the hospital bed, and I tried to help her but did not know how too, and that made me very angry, so I decided to take a class in nursing Assistant and Home Health, but by the time I was finished with the course my Mother passed away. which helped me to see that their are others that need help in their homes and in nursing homes and I wanted do it for my mother to care to those in need and, I love caring for others, and I know my Mother is smiling down on me every time I make a difference in helping someone to live their life as much as possible. My greatest achievement is when making life better for others, like I met a lady who had had a stroke and her husband was caring for her and she was having problems with her hands stiffening up so I made her a home made device to help her be able to open and close her hand for exercise, so she could regain her strength in her hands and move her fingers. It was just rolled up towels but it helped her and made a difference and she was so pleased and so was I.
I am a caregiver because I'm choose to help those in need and I am compassionate and understanding of their needs purposely. I want the patient to know that I am giving the care that I would give my own parents. Simply put, I have a heart and desire to help and love the patient hopefully back to healthiness.
I am a responsible caregiver. I take pride in ensuring good quality of life for those whom I care for. I am patient, compassionate, and energetic. I thrive when multitasking; but also know the importance of taking your time when caring for someone. Caregiving is about making your client feel happy and in good hands. I believe I hold both those qualities.
What makes me a Great care giver ? Well I took care of my mother for 10 years before she died in then I jumped into the nursing field and became a c.n.a and I absolutely love my job . I learn so much from my residents . And I must say hearing the funny stories they tell me is a plus . I'm very compassionate ,responsible, reliable ,and trustworthy .I must say I have a soft spot for someone in need of a helping hand . Or even if it's just a sitting buddy someone to just talk to . Because in the end yeah I'm helping them but they're also helping me as well by letting me know I'm truly needed .
