I strive to treat every client like family, with dignity and respect as if they were my own loved one. I like to joke around when appropriate to keep things upbeat. I'm very interested in people and their history and enjoy listening to the stories clients tell. I decided to become a caregiver as part of my plan to accumulate experience that could help me as a nurse and find the work very rewarding. I am physically able to help most clients with transfers, able to perform light housework and I'm pretty handy.
I'm a great caregiver because I like to help others. And to be a great caregiver you need to have patients. I'm a respectful person honest and loving. I'm a loyal person I'm one of the best in the field.
I am a former special education teacher with 38 years of experience. I left to be home more often with my 85-year-old father who lived with me and had dementia as well as other health concerns. He was the love of my life and I was determined to keep him home with me, but I needed to have some steady income. Prior to my father's passing a year ago, I took care of my mother as well. She had vascular dementia secondary to diabetes as well as other health concerns and was a very difficult person; however, my parents always took excellent care of me and now it was my turn to pay them back rather than turn my back. I was lucky to be in position to do this.
I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, med management, took them to doctor appointments as far away as Hartford, administered weekly blood tests for INR levels, consulted with all agencies as needed (and took all phone calls) as well as every other aspect of running a household and managing a person's life. I loved every minute of it, although it was not without its challenges! I do believe that I can be a valuable asset to you.
I have been in this field for 24 years. I love assisting the elderly and helping them to enjoy their wonder years. I have learned so many things from different clients through the years.
I became a caregiver because my goal is to give my patients the best quality of life. To see my patients smile, laugh, and enjoy life every single day regardless of the diagnosis or condition, gives me a sense of accomplishment. Essentially these are the things that make a really great caregiver. I carry out tasks with responsibility and care. I am polite, patient and I have a friendly nature and possess the ability to deal with patients of all age groups and understand their needs. My personal achievements are that I gained valuable experience and knowledge about this field and developed excellent nursing skills; while having the rewarding effect of improving my patients quality of life.

Compassionate & reliable Nursing assistant with a unique combination of knowledge and skills derived from both schooling and a background in the healthcare setting. Recently Re-certified Rhode Island CNA/HHA Licence and currently working on Phlebotomy Certification. Looking for a position as a Hospice Aide/ Home Health Aide.
I have always had a passion for helping people. I always knew I wanted to be a health care provider. I received my CNA license at the age of 17. And recently re-certified myself a second time after taking a few years away to raise my 3 children until all were school age. One of which was born with a severe disability. It was Upon caring for my mother this past year; as she battled terminal lung and brain cancer. It was her admittance to a hospice care facility I became overwhelmingly inspired to return to nursing. I wanted to show others, and their families the kind of complete care myself and my family was given, and I wanted to make a difference and help best I can with other families in similar situations get through it a best as can be possible.
I have always had a passion for helping people. I always knew I wanted to be a health care provider. I received my CNA license at the age of 17. I took time away from the field to raise my 3 children while they were very young, however. It was very important to me to be able to be with them full time. Especially as my middle child was born with a severe disability. So I postponed my career goals at least until all were school age.
Upon caring for my mother this past year as she battled terminal lung and brain cancer. I became overwhelmingly inspired to return to nursing. She was admitted to a Hospice facility with \"days\" to live. It was the experience together at this facility I became very inspired seeing the level of care my mother was able to receive in her last days. I was also highly appreciative for the care they staff, and facility gave to my entire family during the darkest days my family had ever experienced. They answered all our questions honestly while maintaining professionalism, but doing it in a way that was comforting and empathetic. My mother was able to pass after 4 days with dignity, and reasonably pain free. They were respectful after her passing and let us take all the time we'd like, and handled my mother with utmost respect cleaning her, and preparing her for the funeral home. They even provided some grief counseling for me about a month later.
It was a life changing experience being a part of her final moments, but the caregiver in me couldn't stop thinking about how appreciative I was to this staff. In such a heartbreaking situation was this ray of light calling me back to health care. I wanted to show others, and their families the kind of complete care I was given. I wanted to make a difference and help best I can other families in similar situations get through it a best as can be possible.
What makes me a great PCA/CNA, is more or less my love for carring for the client. I'm calm compassionate kind, as well as patient. I will take the time to reassure the client, as well as their loved ones are treated with the up most respect.
This is not just my job, it's my calling in life I have always loved helping others.
I started carring for others at a young age, it all started w a woman who lost both breast due to cancer, she was an older lady so gentle so kind hearted, buy not even losing her breasts could keep her from being the woman she always was. And from there I just knew.
From 2003-2011 I cared for my very own grandma... She was an inspiration to me. She wasn't in the best of health and asked if I could be there for her, and I accepted. I wouldn't have it any other way. This woman needed me and I was going to be there for her, like she were for me all those years ago, she was still there for me even though she felt as if she wasn't. She perished years later, and to this day she is still w me, she lives in me. When I provide care, I like to care for them as if they were my own family.
I have also experience working in nursing homes as a CNA, I simply prefer working w less clients.
I like to work with the elderly also help people who are in need I think that some day I will be elderly too I have a lot of patience and a lot of love and understanding !! All the cases I have had until the end I have the gift that people always end up wanting me a lot!!!
I am very compassionate, patient and reliable..... I have good organization skills and time management skills....comfortable and deal very well in a hospice situation.....very friendly respectful and outgoing.....
I have always been the one to step in and take charge of situations. I have always looked after people ever since i can remember i guess you could say it comes naturally. I have a great personality, alot of patience and am always willing to learn new things. I enjoy caring for others and being able to make a difference in their lives I wouldn't chabge it for the world. Its the most rewarding job ever. Not only am I amazing at what I do , I also love it! I really couldnt ask for anything more.
I have always felt like caring of others was just my calling. While all the other kids in my neighborhood dressed up like monsters and superheros for Halloween I dressed up as an "everyday hero" a nurse.
Growing up I always knew what I wanted to be when I grew up there was never a doubt in my mind. In my quest to become a nurse, I don't want to waste precious learning opportunity while is school so I first became a CNA and then a licence medication aid. Adding skills and helping better lives along the way.
What I love most about my job is learning about these wonderful peoples lives, and their families and what made them who they are today. Because at the end of the day its not just a job these people become part of your life to.
