I work in the Wellness and health side of healthcare and love connecting with others. I have taught senior fitness for over 15 years. I recently lost my mother in 2021 and spent a decade helping to care for her throughout her illnesses. I believe social relationships and engaging with seniors plays a huge role in their care and well-being.

I think what makes me a great caregiver is the positive attitude I bring to the clients. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is seeing my clients smile and be overjoyed to tell me what's going on in their lives. What attracted me to being a caregiver and seeing my mother with her clients when I was younger and knowing she was helping them with whatever they needed. I enjoy helping others . A personal achievement I'm proud of is knowing I'm doing a good thing helping others with their needs and having others be happy to see me.

I have worked in a nursing facility more than half my life. I Would say less then 10% want to be there. Most miss there hose family and pets. After watching this devastation over the years I have decided to fix it. I AM 42 I am a mother of 4. I have 3 boys 1 girl ages are 25, 22, 20, and 12. I know the struggle and stress that comes with Aging love ones while juggling work and house chores. What I offer is a way you can be stress free. An example of what we do would be as followed. I cook and have a licence. I will do all the cleaning. I have a handicap bus to drive them (you) anywhere you need to go. I'm very outgoing. I'm a big problem solver. I warm up to people fast, but it takes me a little while at first. I realized I wanted to get into the healthcare field right after my grandpa died. I remember how I used to try and help my grandma take care of him all the time. I wish we could've kept him at home but it was too hard on my grandma. I wish back then we knew about home health care services. My favorite thing about what I do is how much time I get to spend with my clients. Since its all one-on-one I get to enjoy their company more so than I would if I were working in a facility taking care of 15 patients rather than 1. Some of their stories are so interesting, especially the ones when they talk about history and being in wars. There is just so much to learn from the elderly.

I have always had a passion of working with individuals & helping them in the best ways I can. I have been told I have a light up the room personality. I have many years of experience working with all spectrums across the board. I've worked in a nursing home, with individuals who have intellectual disabilities. Just being able to help someone throughout their day gives me the greatest joy. Most may not realize but it's not just a job it's a new formed relationship & you can learn just as much from others. Along the years not only have I learned how to have so much compassion i have also learned that life is to be enjoyed even if you need a little extra help.

Hello there! My name is Lori, and I recently retired from teaching and became a part-time, remote proofreader for a publishing company. Since there was still plenty of time during the day to take on a second job, I decided I'd also like to be a caregiver. I helped take care of my father, who had Parkinson's for almost 20 years before passing away. My mother started showing signs of dementia shortly after his passing. I helped take care of her until she moved to Des Moines where she now gets full-time care. I enjoy seeing Mom on the weekends but also like visiting and helping her neighbors in memory care. They are appreciative and always happy to have a visitor, which in turn makes me happy! They helped me discover that I was missing something in my retired life: directly helping people who truly need it. I'm dependable, honest, and a hard worker with an outgoing personality.
