I am a very compassionate person and love to help others, so that is why I became an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I love being around the elderly especially. My grandparents have and had a huge impact on my life and I have learned so much from them. I am a great listener, problem solver and I love to chat, bake, cook and go for walks. I have been married for 32 years, we have two grown sons, and now 2 grandsons, which is an unbelievable blessing! I also have some humor and like to joke around, as I had to live with all boys! I'm also a Christian, love to play cards and games and love dogs!

I am a great care giver because I work with disabled and absolutely love helping people out! I am very outgoing and bubbly and love to make people smile. I am very reliable and willing to go above and beyond to make a difference in people's lives.

My background for the most part began in personal health care, working for an in home support services registry/call list where I worked with disabled clients of all ages and with disabilities ranging from quadriplegic and paraplegic to blind. Some clients had severe mental disabilities while others mildly so. Earlier I worked with children as a special education tech for a school district. These children were living with illnesses such as autism, dyslexia and bipolar disorder, many with physical disabilities as well. I do and love this profession because I feel that my mission in life is to help those who can't help themselves.

I take care of my elderly grandparents and I help them with everything they need help with including lawn care and upkeep of their home I make sure they get to dr appointments and they have their bills paid and on time.

The thing that attracts me most to being a caregiver, is knowing that you have the ability to make someone's life better. I think it is crucial to not only provide cares, but to be caring. I've always been an empathetic, hardworking, kind individual, and I love the idea of using those personal traits to help benefit others.

Hello there! My name is Lori, and I recently retired from teaching and became a part-time, remote proofreader for a publishing company. Since there was still plenty of time during the day to take on a second job, I decided I'd also like to be a caregiver. I helped take care of my father, who had Parkinson's for almost 20 years before passing away. My mother started showing signs of dementia shortly after his passing. I helped take care of her until she moved to Des Moines where she now gets full-time care. I enjoy seeing Mom on the weekends but also like visiting and helping her neighbors in memory care. They are appreciative and always happy to have a visitor, which in turn makes me happy! They helped me discover that I was missing something in my retired life: directly helping people who truly need it. I'm dependable, honest, and a hard worker with an outgoing personality.
