What makes me a good home care aide is my dedication to what I do. I give my best to serve / help my client in any way I can. I became a home care aide because I want to work with and help seniors. I believe that taking care of them is like taking care of my own mother. Aside from having the chance to serve / help seniors, what I like about being a home care aide is its flexible work schedule. Seeing my client satisfied and happy with what I do for him / her is a personal achievement I am proud of.
Being able to empathize allows me to put myself in the patient's shoes, and identify and ease the patient's fears or discomfort. Patience and flexibility. There'll be many hurdles along the way-the patient is being stubborn and uncooperative, the schedule doesn't go as planned, or difficult situations arise. I will find a way to deal with this in a positive way. Having a good sense of humor. Is a good indicator that I would be able to tolerate and deal with difficult situations, which is essential because caregiving involves conditions that more people would find hard or challenging.

I love helping others and work very well off of a task list. I'm sociable and genuinely care about the welfare of others. I am attracted to caregiving because it allows me to work intimately with people who may need higher levels of assistance. I'm currently taking classes in an LPN program in Chicago. I hope to one day be an RN. I love learning and can be introverted but this helps me pay attention to details that others may miss. I am passionate about helping others, particularly the marginalized in society. I love feeling like I made a difference in the lives of those I serve. I look forward to working with you soon! :)
