My name is Ashley Janssen, I have two daughter, 5 and 9. I have been a caregiver for about a year all together. I have worked with colostomy bags, catheters and I excel with clients who have dementia or alzheimer's.

I have been giving personalized compassionate care for 24 yrs. I have experience in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and hospice facilities as well. I believe in caring for the individual as a whole, taking care to look as their physical needs, mental/emotional needs and spiritual needs.I can be a liaison between other care providers and your doctor if necessary, I will take clients to doctor appointments to convey progress or decline in health. I will ensure that their nutritional needs are met and work with my clients to help them achieve the highest quality of life through daily exercising whether lying in bed, in a chair or able to stand/walk. I focus on what my client is able to achieve rather than what they cannot. I truly believe it is in the best interest of my patients to remain in their familiar surroundings if at all possible. I'm a very caring person and like to go above and beyond for a client when possible. I care about the elderly, as I took care if my mom for 10 yrs in her home and have worked in the nursing home environment for 13 years and learned so much even though I wasn't a CNA. I enjoy making their life in their home as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I'm am proud I stepped up to become a field supervisor to ensure the care they deserve.

I became a CNA in July of 2014 after losing my daughter Karleigh to a genetic disease SMA. It's alot like ALS except it's the infant form. I wanted to help people in the same way that the nurses and staff helped my baby girl. I fell in love with the job. I started the pre nursing school in 2016 and am currently going for my RN at Lewis and Clark. Now that I take care of people for a living I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

I'm a very caring patient person. I love to talk about anything that is interesting which is everything. I love to make peoples lives easier and fun. I have a lot of experience with caring for people. I enjoy bringing a smile and good conversation to any situation that comes my way. I volunteer as a Boy Scout leader for my local Boy Scout Troop. I have been certified twice , I took class for the handicapped and also went to school for the elderly. I talk to them first so their comfortable with me and I just as ask," what would you like for me to do for you today". You would be surprised at what little things they want to make them happy. I always treat them the way I would want to be treated when I reach their age. Knowing that their happy when I leave is the best achievement I could ever ask for.
