I've always loved helping elderly people. Part of what makes me a great caregiver is that people I care for tell me I understand them even when no one else seems to. I ask lots of questions to determine what they want and need. Therefore, they have the maximum autonomy, independence and happiness possible, which is definitely what I would want for myself. I also have the gift of extreme patience when working with elderly people with dementia. They never drive me crazy, most likely because of lots of exposure early in life to that sort of thing. Of course, I'm completely trustworthy. But I also have unusually high integrity, excellent values and am unusually responsible and capable. I have extensive college training in medical information and know what to do. I've been trained by some of the best private caregivers in Louisville and have a network of other excellent caregivers. I have a very wide range of experience in this area up to and including working closely with hospice staff. I'm a multi-talented individual who's an unusually accomplished American. Therefore, I have all kinds of personal achievements I'm proud of. I simply enjoy this type of service and autonomy more than most types of professional work I've done.
I FEEL I AM A GOOD CAREGIVER CAUSE I HAVE THE BEST PATIENCE,HEART,AN SMILE AN I TREAT AN INDIVIDUAL AS I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED ALWAYS... I BECAME A CAREGIVER IN 2000 I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THAT PASSION FOR HELPING THE ELDERLY IF IT WAS FROM OPENING THE DOOR FOR THEM,THEIR GROCERIES,FINDING ITEMS IN THE GROCERIES FOR THEM,HELPING THEM TO THEIR CAR ETC.JUST KNOWING THAT I HAVE HELPED SOMEONE MAKE THEIR DAY A LITTLE EASIER AN THE APPRECIATION FROM IT.... WHAT I ENJOY MOST IS BEING NEEDED BY SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT THE MOST I LEARN SOMETHING EVERY SINGLE DAY WHICH IS A PLUS,THE SMILES,THE FEELING OF COMFORTING SOMEONE EVERYDAY IS A BIG PLUS...... Nursing was my first career choice. I am passionate about doing what I can to help anyone find a new normal to live in. The most beautiful part of this is that I am grateful to have been able to work in a career I love and help others. I have met a lot of beautiful people. The only down side is that families, patients and I usually get attached, and when a job has to end, the parting is usually very difficult.
I love to help people I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, that's why I went into that subject because I am intrigued by people and I love to help them. I have a very sweet and polite persona. I am willing to do whatever makes them smile and happy! I love to hear stories from them if they like to tell them, I'm kinda of an old soul. I know I am a good caregiver because I treat people that others love the way I would want someone to treat someone that love or myself if I ever needed this type of care. I am always polite and respectful. I was mostly brought up by my grandparents whom I loved dearly and they laid down a good foundation to how you treat others in life and how you treat others says alot about your morals and character. I don't mind doing for others at all. But it would be nice to have a friend as well but I do respect peoples boundaries, I know we all have our days! I would love to have a chance to meet you!
I've been taking care of people since 1998 and is very rewarding you meet people from all types of life from middle-class to riches...... missing people hard to get with and I'm missing people that had beautiful hearts this part of the job I feel like this is my calling one of my callings to take care of people and I need even if it is being there they last breath the first person I ever took care of what's my step grandmother and I was 11 years old just being there until my grandfather came home and I've done it for the whole summer did she passed away at the end of summer but she also preparing me for her death and I didn't cry cuz she told me not to to be there for everybody else but I cried later so I really enjoy taking care of people we have to respect each other I respect people homes like that my own and I would like to have that respect back not disrespecting each other with language a physical ways I just love to be there for a family and help them ease their hearts and their pains knowing they have someone there they can trust to take care of their loved ones

Hi, my name is Donnetta. I have been a caregiver for 4 years now. I currently work in a Senior living facility, and take care of my grandmother that has Dementia and a Psychotic disorder. I became a caregiver because I love being able to help others, and it really hits home with me. I also really enjoy seeing them happy, listening to them reminiscence, getting to be a part of their world as it is now. Being a part of their world, the way they currently see things, that's something that you have to embrace. I am TB negative, my background is clean and I am drug free. I am not CNA certified, but, I have been trained just like a CNA. I have applied for a background check, its just not in yet. Good luck with your search for great care!

I have an outgoing and very caring and compassionate personality. I was first attracted to becoming a caregiver in 98 two years after graduating from high school. I wanted to give back to others who have given soo much of their love and compassion to their own families and friends over the years, back to them. I enjoy most about being a caregiver being able to make another happy, and stress free by being able to take care of all their needs. A personal achievement of mine is when I earned my certification as a C.N.A yrs. ago after taking classes and doing clinicals.
