I was attracted to being a caregiver because I like to help, I like to make people smile. Well I been taking care of my mom or auntie for many years just to help around I would cook clean and remind them when it time to take their medications. However this made me think about being a home caregiver. Even tho I only help my mom and auntie out I enjoy every minute of helping them out I enjoy being around older people. Overall the caregiver job being so much joy to my heart people I always love help someone out no matter the age I love see their different personalities it being joy and you learn a lot to while working with different people. One thing I am proud of that I have achieved the fact that I was a little bit younger when i started help my mom and aunt out but when I got to know what they go through out the daily i just watch closely and learn quickly and just kept either my mom or auntie or track with their daily lives.

I became a certified nurses assistant in 1987 through state of Indiana. I continued for 23 years. I wanted this type of job since junior high. I love this type of work to see smiles and make tasks easier for those who have a hard time. I too may be there soon. I have done hospice experience for a year and caregiver work around 6 years.

Caregiving in my opinion is the best job I could ever have and knowing that you are helping someone in need . I am currently working towards getting my CNA license . I have been a CNA for the past 5 years, just shy of 6 years and love my job. I recently just worked at a hospital for a few years and had received so much experience I would love to share with you. I have worked in Rehabilitation, orthopedic/med. surg, nursing homes, palliative, Dementia/Alzheimer's, hospice, and much more. Being a CNA has brought so many opportunities to my life and I'm so thankful for that, along with the people I've met, the stories my patients have shared, and the things I've seen.

I grew up with my mom in & out of the hospital due to cancer & have always had a drawn connection to health care. Junior year in high school I took a CNA class, Senior year I transferred to EMT class. I didn't graduate with either due to moving a lot. In 2020 , shortly after COVID I had a strong desire to come back to health care. I took a CNA class in Covington, Indiana & didn't care for the nursing home environment. I decided to take college courses for Massage Therapy, fell in love with it & all it's healing properties. I moved to Terrehaute , Indiana and decided it was time to go back to nursing but, didn't want to go to a nursing home. I found Help at Home and become an Aide with them, it was by far the best job I have ever had. I had the opportunity to be in the health field doing what I love but also having that time to have companionship & good relationships with my patients.
