I have a nurturing spirit. I became a care giver at a young age. I took care of my god mother at 12 years of age. My career choice stemmed from my relationship with the elderly. I love what I do. My work speaks from its self. I love to help people get back to their best. . I love how I can get to the meanest people and they truly love me. I have client I make special sandwich's to make him happy. So when he doesn't eat the staff let's me know and I can go cook and he will eat. This makes me proud. He doesn't like many but he likes me. I'm proud of that.
I became a caregiver at the age of 19. I have been employed in nursing home facilities and by individuals (couples). I am able to assist with personal needs, (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, medications, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errands, appointments, yard work, physical and memory exercises), and most of all provide companionship. For my personality traits, I am positive, encouraging, hard-worker, intelligent, and kind. I am attracted to being a caregiver because I am going to school for nursing and I enjoy helping others in any way I can. I have not been a caregiver before, but I have babysat and cared for children before. I am proud of graduating high school with high honors and finishing my freshman year of college well.
What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I have a huge compassion with helping people. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is the happiness you can create as well as not only sympathy but the empathy towards the elderly past or current life situations. I really enjoy creating a bond by listening to there life stories and taking care of them because it helps not only themselves but the family I love to see people smile and to help them make there day the best that it can be. An personal achievement I'm proud of is when I worked in multiple homes or facilities that I have had nothing but compliments for example a man that suffered from a strokes wife for Christmas gave me a gift and card one year thanking me and let me know that when I come in the room my smile and happiness lights up the whole room. Made me feel I was right where I belonged
Hi I have been working in healthcare since I was 16. I received my CNA at 16 and have held numerous positions in the field since. I also received my phlebotomy certificate as I progress in medical profession. However I have found that I enjoy working one on one with my patients more preferring home care or AFC homes, than nursing facilities.. The elderly deserve the very best. People that do this work can be hard to find someone who will truly love and care for your family like their own but rest assured that is exactly what you will have if you hire me. I enjoy everything about working with elderly I love the feeling of doing something good.
