What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

I have been a caregiver for 15+ years fresh out of high school. I became a cargiver because my grandmother had took ill and developed dementia. My family and I took alot of time to care for her in the comfort of her own home until she departed in 2009. I knew that i wanted to be a caregiver because caring for people is my life I enjoy being able to put others and meet their needs before my own. Being a caregiver was not always easy and through out the years I have learned to be compassionate, caring, loving and also very giving. And through out the years I have further my education and I have more than one certification that I can provide care for.

Am a very compassionate person good listener even when i was a child there was something that drove me to Elder people and the sick it didn't matter rather old or young. My heart was there i do whatever i could to help. I lose my grandma to cancer. I was very young i remember standing by her bed when i was a child watching over her running out to catch my school bus with tears in my eyes peoples like doing different thing. It my calling from the lord to help i love doing. Being a care giver ever client i ever had was proud of me so i must be doing something good. It give me joy to be able to help put a smile on some one face. That give me joy to make someone smile it really.
