Hello, My name is Marcia Taylor. Just a little update about myself. I'm 44 years old, I love being a caregiver. It makes me feel great when I can brighten their day, make them understand that they do matter and I'm always their to protect and take care of them. I have family that I take care and I have a caregiver for them as well. So I like to make sure I feel comfortable with them as well as they feel comfortable, trustworthy with me as well. I enjoy preparing meals, reminding them of their meds, taking them to run errands or I will do it if they don't feel like it. But more than anything, I would like them to feel safe with me, I'm their for their needs, and companionship as well. I love to talk and let them know just because I'm here to do these things, they still matter and can enjoy life as well. I'm a good listener, and I have patients. My clients are like family to me. I treat them with much respect as I would if it was my own family.

My name is Inna Golden. I've been doing PCA work for about 4 years now I got certified May, 2022. I plan to go back to school for my LPN the year of 2023 and what makes me happy the most about doing this type of work is me feeling like that it's something that I was called to do. I love helping others. I love spending time with other people. I love getting to learn different ways and learning different ways that I can help others. Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. But I'd love to tell you a story, which really helped me make this decision. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was left alone. Plus, her arthritis was starting to worsen, and she began having more and more trouble preparing her meals, bathing, and getting her groceries. So we found her a caregiver and she was absolutely amazing! She stayed with my grandma for longer hours than expected, while telling stories about growing up in Europe. That was very soothing for my grandma, and that caregiver inspired me to join this field. I really try to get to know my patients. I ask a lot of questions. I ask about their feelings and if they're dealing with weighty emotions, like sadness, anger, or anxiety. I listen as much as possible and tell them they can talk to me about anything without worry. I try building trust, and it's a gradual process, but I do my best to get there.

I am a quick learner. I love being around people and meeting new people. I like to see everyone smiling. I pride myself on not letting my feelings get the best of me.

I am a nurse at heart and love caring for those who are in need. I am returning to the work force even though I am always helping my family and friends. They know I will only give them good solid advice and instructions when it comes to their health and well-being.

As of now, I'm employed with Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services part time. I love helping elderly people or people that can't do day to day task on their own.

I like keeping elders active by doing cross words, puzzles, cards, crafts and chats. As well as anything they have an interest in. Always at their pace. I offer meditation management within a client's home. I also provide bedside care in a hospital, hospice or nursing home setting. I am very comfortable advocating for elders.
