My compassion amd integrity makes me a great caretaker. I treat clientel the same way I would a loved one. I enjoy caretaking because I find it rewarding to be trusted and to be able to spend quality time with clientele. My greatest achievement is when a client was having a violent behavior and this person was pulling a staff members hair amd trying to bite her. I asked him to look at me in a calm voice and asked him to let go. I asked him to look at me and calmly told him it was ok. Repeated this until he let go. He then went to sit in his chair.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I see myself as compassionate and empathetic person. I derive genuine satisfaction from helping others one-on-one or in a group setting. Honestly what attracted me to being a caregiver is that I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. Also I have cheerful and encouraging attitude when it comes to assisting individuals who have trouble taking care of themselves and performing everyday activities. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am able make a difference in someones life, I am able to build cherished memories, I am able to learn from the elderly and that I am to value companionship and build my skills. I'm most proud of the way I helped to organize my church annual toy drive fundraiser this past Christmas, making it possible for us to bring in more toys than had ever been brought in the history of the toy drive event.
