Caregiving is I think an honor to help individuals get a better quality of life being at home in their own homes. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to show a client how being at home can be fun, enjoyable and mostly safe for them. I am most proud of myself for a few reasons. Losing an excessive amount of weight. After a loss of a child I gained a large amount of weight and when I had my son, I was larger than life. But as years went by I needed to start taking care of myself. Have lost over 583 lbs in 33 years. Also achieving getting back up on my own raised my son and became a Licensed Nurse's Assistant with home care and nursing homes. Did many kinds of employment but always came back to nursing. I have been a caregiver for nearly 30 years: I always arrive to work with a positive and upbeat attitude. I love working with the elderly. There is so much to learn from their many years on this earth. I treat all my clients as I would want my own elderly parents to be treated.

I have been taking care of people all my life! I started out at 16 years old as a nurses aide and worked my way up to an RN while raising my family. I have experience with children, disabled children and adults, geriatrics and hospice. My belief is the patient/clients needs come first. I am open and honest . I stay calm during a crisis and maintain my patient/clients dignity at all times.

I possess 20 years of Direct Support and thoroughly enjoyed that position as it afforded me the opportunity to put my caregiving and compassion into motion. I have been in the Medical field for 11 years. I have a warm and caring approach and like to treat people with dignity and respect. I have gained numerous skills and Certificates including: PSS, CNA, Phlebotomy, Medical Terminology, CPR. I would like the opportunity to work in the home-health care environment with a loving family.

I've worked with children and my 95 year old great grandmother. I am now working with a wonderful 87 year old woman. I have cpr/first aid certificate and basic life support certified. I'm passionate about what I do and will help in anyway I can.
