I enjoy helping people, and comes very natural to me. In my spare time I enjoy swimming,biking, reading,and hiking.

My passion is working with the elderly. I am honored by the families that put their trust in me to care for their loved one who may be on the final path of their life requiring Home Hospice care. or is at that point in their lives where assistance is needed in order to continue staying in their home, being as independent as possable, staying safe. My commitment for each and every person is to provide them with companionship, assistance with physical needs and whatever else they need, whether it's writing a letter for them, or baking their favorite cookies, straightening out closet shelves or holding their hand, reading a book to them or just sitting quietly with them. I believe it is ao important to pocess tthe traits that are important in caregiving which are flexibility, willingness to sit still when you notice its what the person you are caring for needs. Paying attention is very important. A caregiver cannot just "be there" I keep logs in order to ensure the Doctor and nurses and family are notified of ANY changes such as skin color, urine intake/out take, bathroom habits, signs of weakness, facial changes, depression/mood changes. If bedridden, log needs to include turning times, any skin breakdown issues, A good caregiver needs to go outside the box, be willing to do what otherwise might be uncomfortable, be drama free. Assisting the family is one of the things that helps them know who I am and relieves some of the stress from their lives. By helping doing even the smallest of details, yardwork, cleaning a garage etc. I promise you that I will make the same commitment to respect, never diminish their dignity and do all I can to provide the stability, comfort your loved one deservesI I did not become a Caregiver to change the dynamics of lives. but to be there to make them feel safe, healty and secure. Compassion goes a long long way.

I love being a caregiver, because helping people especially elderly is a very rewarding job, someone need to help elderly and that's me, should help them .. Not everyone likes to be s caregiver but for me it's a very rewarding job. I feel good if I can make an elderly patient smile again and especially if they can get back in walking again . I was very proud of myself when a dementia patient of mine was back to her normal situation ( not exactly normal) but giving the medications on time and feeding or reminding her or him that it's time to eat will help a lot in getting better. Time management for the daily activities of the patient will help a lot in getting better for the patient well being . I considered myself as one of the best caregiver at my job now, and will continue to give my good care to the elderly until I retire .

I've been in the healthcare field for 8+ years doing CNA, home health and respite. I've had patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI's and children with developmental and physical disabilities. Hi. I are for my mom most of her life, she always had health issues. I also was a stay at home mom with 2 now grown children. I started the first half of my life in different careers from Office management. RE, Interior Design and also tutoring children to now completing my first step to becoming a Nurse. I enjoy the humility of taking care of others, especially of the older population in a way of giving back to others. I enjoy helping others especially when they are unable to take care of themselves. When I was 16 yrs old I started working in the hospital always wanted to a nurse but lived in a rural area where there was no place to study, so later in life I started to work in nursing homes and assisted living centers, eventually branching out on my own. It's just somthing I'm passionate about and will continue to do till I need a caregiver. Im honest reliable and compassionate and belive in keeping loved ones at home on there own surroundings. My last client was 101. I was with her for 10 yrs. For her 100th birthday I made her birthday wish come true we even made the local paper. She wanted a ride in and ambulance with 2 goodlooking EMT's around town since she had been bed bound for 7 yrs. I got the locals to come out where we stopped the sang to her brought her flowers, it was amazing. She was a beautiful person.
