I have 8 years of experience working with individuals with special needs and various levels of needs. I enjoy helping people and giving them a sense of accomplishment. I am proud that I was able to raise my special needs daughter alone and she is successful and holds a job in the community while living in a group home.

I have a kind way about myself I guess you can say. I am considered the go to aide, if a resident is upset and needs an understanding ear to listen to them. A lot of times my residents feel like they control nothing in their lives anymore, and I try to help them still feel important with a purpose. I let them do for themselves what they can, and help them with things they need help with. Almost my whole life I wanted to takes care of people in some way shape or form. My Grandma used to call me her little nurse for the age of around 5. I loved helping her and taking care of her. Now when I take care of people, I remember my Grandma calling me her little nurse, and it makes me very happy. I truly love helping elderly people. They helped raise us all, and take care us. Now its my turn, to help them and take care of them if they need the help

Even as a little girl I have always enjoyed helping people any way I could. I have always been drawn to the medical field in some way. I started as a PCA helping with medications, insulin, wound care, some personal care. I then became a CNA and have worked with many wonderful people. From helping with basic care needs, to being someone they could share company with. To full care needs. Dressing, dinning, bathing, physical therapy, helping transfer from sitting ro standing. Wheelchair to bed. I love being able to make someone smile in anyway I can.

I started my caregiver journey at 16 years old because of my passion to help others. Nearly 30 years later, my journey continues. My skillset includes PT, OT, and ADL Assistance, Medication Administration/reminders, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship. I work well with Dementia/Alzheimer's inflicted consumers. Hi there! My name is Jen. I am a professional home health aide. There is nothing better than taking care of people that have helped mold our community to how it is. Elderly care is hard to achieve when it is your own family. Having an outsider come in to assist the family and patient gives peace of mind while building a relationship with the aide. I started caring for people since before I even could understand what it was. My little sister is severely autistic. I would help her with her activities of daily living everyday. When I got out of high school in 2010 I started working as an STNA in Ohio. I have worked in multiple nursing homes, home care agencies, group homes, and day programs. I can't say I have seen it all but I have seen a lot. I learn something new everyday and I love to learn. I have alot of experience from alzeimers and dementia to schizophrenia. Being a care giver gives me a great deal of purpose. Helping people gives me a sense of joy. One personal achievement I have made by myself would be starting as a care giver in a group home and got promoted to a site supervisor.

I have spent my life serving others as a preacher/missionary wife for 30 years. It is my spiritual gift. I am caring and gentle and can be firm when needed, with encouragement to "getting moving" when able or getting up for doctor visits, etc. My clients have so far all reacted well to me and my stable temperament. I am a go-getter. I move from when I wake up to soon before bed. I take initiative without overstepping my boundaries. I sing and feel music is a big help with depression. I am sensitive to the needs of patient or family who may be near. I could get another "job," but it would not be as fulfilling and there is a real need for good caregivers. Ms. Walsingham thought I should go into my own business. This was a huge compliment coming from this dear former businesswoman. Thank you for considering me for late afternoons or overnights. I moved to Ohio to help my elderly parents in case they were to need me.
