I like giving the client and option on how to run things in the time frame we have to some extent to meet your goals/things that need done. They don't like strangers telling them what to do so it gives them a bit of independence..while still being in control of the situation.

I became a care giver because I wanted to be closer to achieving my goal of being an LPN. My little brother has epilepsy and I like being aware of his physical state and helping him.
