Arthritis Caregivers in Somerset County - 16 caregivers found

I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

My personality is what makes me a great caregiver. I'm compassionate empathetic reliable trustworthy and I love what I do. Nothing makes me more happy then knowing I made a person that's sickly or not able to help themselves feel comfortable at ease and happy for the great care that they received from me. I always wanted to be a nurse so I became a certified nurses aide and have been taking care of the elderly for eleven years I'll be going to school to become a nurse helping people is my passion

My ability to go above and beyond. I'm always smiling and very patient ,great listener. What attracted me to be a caregiver is just seeing how many people need help and knowing I can offer the help even before becoming a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to see my patients smile knowing I can make they day and help them and take some load off them to relax. A personal achievement I'm proud of is making the president list in college and moving me and my kids into a new place.

I truly believe I was put on this Earth to help people. I enjoy making people's days a little brighter and easier. Life is about lifting each other up and making the most out of each and every day. I am going to be going to Nursing school in the Fall and pursue my passion of becoming a LPN, so I can extend my care to my clients.

I have my certifications for the state of Florida I also have my CPR And First AID Training. I also have my own Health insurance car insurance and license. I will have my background check soon I'm new to this site and l have to wait on my birth certificate that l misplaced, so l can get my background check, l do have references l also have my clearances and fingerprints from up north so I'm waiting to update those as well. I took a cna class all through out high school but got pregnant my senior year and couldn't do clinicals. I graduated high school but unfortunately not with my cna. My mother is disable from a stroke so I've also been taking care of her for 4 years now.

I prefer private inhome care, ive done private care for families since i was 20 yrs olds , i have 25 yrs experience. I enjoy helping other. I learn quickly how the patient likes things and times they like to get up in morning to begin their day and when they end going to bed to watch their favorite tv show before going to sleep.
