Hello my name is Esmeralda and I chose to be a caregiver at a young age I guess u can say . My grandmother raised me and she was the first person I took care of and I fell in love with it . I have patience and I love to sit with them and chat . They need someone to care for them as well as hear them out . I was a caregiver/provider from January 2003 to August 2019. I completed a certified nurse assistant course in January 2003, as well as 12 hours continuing education yearly for 16 years.

I am a calm and patience. I like to try out being a caregiver as a new experience. I like to assist people with there day to day task and person to speak with them. I am not a big talker, but I like to listen and give my viewpoint one on subjects to keep the conversation going.

I'm a very hard worker dedicated to providing the best care and companionship possible. My background is in social work. I've worked in hospice, home health and previously as a nursing assistant. My previous work as been as a social worker for the state department of child protective services and recently as a youth care worker. I love to read and get to know the life stories of who and why we are who we are.

I started care giving with my grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/dementia. I found myself enjoying the time I spent with her and even after she passed I looked for a job in caring for the elderly. They enjoy ones company.

As a great caregiver I try to remain very positive all the time. I am an honest and trust worthy person Being patient, responsible, dependable and have great communication skills with my patients is at the most important to me. As a caregiver I am very empathetic towards my patients and compassionate, it is what establishes a great relationship with each patient. Understanding the patients needs and desires to be able to take care of them efficiently is at the most important to their family and myself. It is what makes work environment healthier and understanding for patient and healthcare worker. I became a caregiver to be able to help those who cant help themselves, to try and help them build the confidence some may have lost during some difficult moments they must have gone through if it may have been through some therapy, or a on going treatment they are still facing. Offer those encouraging words we all need to hear from time to time, show them some one cares if they have no one else to turn too. Being a caregiver gives me great feeling knowing that I have made a difference in someones life. When I see a patient has recovered more that 50 percent it gives me great joy to know I have made a difference in someones life. To have a patient to being speechless to even a good morning is a huge difference to me. Its what makes me want to go to work every day and know I will continue to make a difference in someones life.
