What made me want to be a CNA/ Caregiver, was when I was 16 my grandfather whom I was very close to had a massive stroke and ended up being paralyzed on the right side, he had to be placed into a LTC center even though we wanted to keep him at home. But it was when I visited him daily that I saw and realized what being a caregiver actually entailed. They were so good to him, and in turn he not only thought the World of them, but we all did to. This helped me to realize what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I am a very outgoing person. I love talking and helping older people. I was attracted to become a caregiver when my mother in law had her first very bad surgery. She had a very bad stomach surgery. I dressed her wounds and had to clean and put on a med vac on her wound. She also had a colostomy bag that I cleaned and changed for her every time she needed it. She has had about 6 surgeries every sense and I have taken care of her every time. I love taking care of people because it makes me feel like im doing something good in life and that makes me happy.
