I love being a caregiver, because I love helping people. When I have a patient that smiles and tells me they missed me while I was gone, reassures me that I'm doing exactly what I was put on this earth to do. I'm a mother of two beautiful children, one of which was born with multiple health issues and he is the reason I wanted to become a cna.

My family owns a mental health group home in Cumberland, VA. While growing up, I became interested in people with disorders or with people who were a little different. Working with people who may suffer from a disease lightens my day. I want to offer all I can to help them live their lives a little easier. I want to be the change within the world. I am outgoing, fun, patient, and very reliable. I have my own transportation and I rarely ever miss work. I graduated from college May 2018, but I am still taking summer classes to be able to receive a certificate in substance abuse. I really enjoy being a caregiver and attending to people who needs my help.
WHAT MAKES ME A GREAT CARE GIVER IS MY LOVE FOR WORKING WITH OLDER PEOPLE.MY JOB AS A CAREGIVER WAS A PART TIME JOB AND I LOVED IT. WHAT I LIKED ABOUT BEING A CARE GIVER WAS BEING ABLE TO HELP THE ELDERLY WAS A BLESSING.MY PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT THAT I AM PROUD OF IS THAT I HAD THE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH THE ELDERLY WHILE ACHIEVING MY CNA CERTIFICATE CPR AND FIRST AIDE CARD AND MEDICATION CERTIFICATE.AND ALSO WORKED IN DIETARY WITH THE ELDERLY.
The qualities that help me with elderly care are being energetic, compassionate and understanding. I was an activities assistant for a nursing home. I was often a companion to many residents. I enjoyed sitting with residents. We watched their favorite shows, read magazines, played games, etc. I love the connection I had with my residents. I also enjoyed the humor and carefree spirit of my residents. I had several achievements while working with residents. My favorite was of a lady that didn't like being around anyone. I began to visit her and she slowly began responding. After several weeks, we became friends and I would sit and talk about her family. One day, I invited her to Bingo and she accepted. She truly enjoyed it and I was so happy!

Hello! I'm Kelsi. I'm 21, I work at an all-natural health store, and I love to help people. Caregiving has almost always been a part of my life as I grew up helping my mom take care of my sick grandmother. It's something that certainly shaped me, my outlook on life, and how I treat others. I would love to work with people I can form true connections with, and get to know on a familiar level. As I already work part-time, I am usually available 3-4 days a week, daytime hours preferred.
