About Brooklyn

My name is Brooklyn. I'm 30 years old and have been in the medical field since I was 19. I love my career as a CNA and at the moment have no desire to become a nurse , but possibly becoming a CNA manager. I see this field becoming only a stepping stone to many and at times not being recognized for the amount of importance this field has and is in need of. I have worked in Assisted living homes to nursing homes and rehabs. The care of my patience is number one. This job has not only provided for my own family, but through building relationships, has taught me so much in life. I have provided care, comfort and time to one who have passed or in the processe of passing and been a help to provide the right care to patients who plan to transition back home while allowing them to maintain as much independence. I am beyond confident with knowing that my position as a CNA is where I want to be with hopes to teach new CNA s the knowledge I have learned so that rather than it being only a stepping stone, it can be acknowledged for the immense importance and be life and career positive learning and changing experience.

My primary concern as a caregiver is to make sure that my client is able to function at the best of their ability and to make sure that they are having the highest quality of life that they are able to have. I am not only there for my client but I am also there for the family (such as: to let them go grocery shopping, are just to be another set of ears at doctor appointments or for the family. After a few days with the client and the family I begin to consider them family. I have a great amount of nurturing and empathy, some say I care to much but I give 150% to my clients and families. I enjoy order and dispensing medication, relating to my clients, enjoy the pass and working on family history. I have no parents or grandparents so my clients kind of fill these roles. I have been a first responder, EMT, CPR Instructor, nurse's aide, and medication aide. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is having a D.N.S. that I work with for a long time trust me to teach new nurse's the medication routine and to be a charge nurse. As a personal care giver the highest praise I can be given is for my client to tell me I must be an angel and that they love me.

I enjoy caregiving as a profession. I am mindful of the client's safety, ADLs & happy to assist. I enjoy keeping a tidy household, cooking meals and going on outings, walking or driving. Dependability and reliability are important to me. I am patient and flexible. If a care plan is in place I have experience following and guiding the client in a positive manner. I have been a caregiver all my life, with my parents (whom have both transitioned), my grown children & clients. It comes natural for me & I am often taking on line courses to advance my knowledge. Please feel free to call me with any questions! I look foward to meeting you. Thank you, Jamie
