About Charlene

I love the elderly, disabled and children, there is just a special place in my heart for them. I feel they are so special and need us caregivers to help them get through the day. I raised my grandson for 12 years, he was a special needs child with disabilities, but I would do it all over again. He was a challenge, but I welcome challenges. He is 17 now and we are so close with one another and have that special bond, the same kind of closeness I feel for all the people I have taken care of through the years. I am blessed to be there for them and when they see my smiling face as I am looking them in the face, their expression alone, without saying a word, tells me they appreciate me so much. That makes my day even that much more brighter and with a happy heart....

I lived with my client in his home, he was 94 and had Parkinson's. I cooked all meals, went grocery shopping, prepared meals and drinks, desserts and blended his main meals because he had no teeth. He could not walk, he had a electric wheelchair. I bathed him, shaved him, cut his hair and helped with other hygiene. I emptied urnal everyday that he used during the night. I sterilized his toilet daily and bathroom sink and tub. Cleaned entire home. Took him to doctor appointments and made all the doctor appointments. I also scheduled his rides to and from doctor appointments. I did all the laundry, folded, hanged and put away. I also provided smiles and laughter everyday. He could not talk, so I talked to his family and we got him an IPAD and I installed a program in it which was called Premium program and he typed in what he wanted to say and it did the talking for him, he was very happy.
