I became a caregiver because I took care of my grandmother who had dementia for a short period of time, and I am raising my grandson who was injured at 16 mnths old, causing a disability, I have taken care of him ever since, I have worked in facilities with the elderly and I come to love it. I love caregiving because I want to help those that struggle with what has become hard for them to do, to enlighten their day. I had a client one time who had had a hard life, and it took me 6 months for him to warm up to me, for he had a disability, but my enjoyment came when he reached his hand out to me and held it. I am 61 years old, I have just recently moved to Surprise. My grandson's request when he would end his Sophmore year was to move with us coming with him to where his mommy lived. Well, this year came, and here we are. I want to give the love and companionship to those that are so much needing it. I worked for a facility that had mentally challenged people, and I love it. I just recently worked for a senior facility, and I just loved the clients that lived there. I have as of this time quit that job and am looking to work with clients again, one on one, that is what I really enjoy
