About Jean

Growing up I helped take care of my brother who was disabled. He had Autism, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing impaired, and Developmentally 6 months of age. I took care of him from the ages 8-15 until he passed away. Taking care of him gave me joy and I fell in love with taking care of people. After he passed away I volunteered at the local nursing home. I also volunteered at the local food drive, it gave me such joy seeing the smiles on peoples faces helping them. Ive always had a passion for taking care of people and caring for them. Eventually I got jobs at different nursing homes and also did personal caregiving, where I would go to their houses and help them with things there. I love being a caregiver because its a wonderful feeling knowing that you are helping people and making their lives easier. A personal achievement that I am proud of would definitely be taking care of my brother, he was such an amazing person. Even though his life was so hard and he could not communicate, he always had a smile on his face and loved life. I wouldnt change my childhood of taking care of my brother instead of playing with my friends for the world. He has made such an impact on my life and has given me a passion for what I do. I am a very positive person and always look on the brighter side of things. I love smiling and talking to people. I am also very energetic and well organized.

I know when they grow old they need somebody to listen, talk and just be there for them. What I am proud of is making them smile and help them at the same time. I have five kids and eight grand kids. I don't have my parents anymore but to me taking care of anybody that needed help is like taking care of my parents. I am very easy to get along with. If I can be given the opportunity to prove myself.
