I became a caregiver many years back when my older sister was getting her nursing degree. From then on I worked at rehabs, nursing homes, private care & hospital. I enjoy what I do and I do believe if you don't have the heart for this kind of job it's definitely not for you. I always said if I wrote a book about all I have cared for I would be famous. I enjoy the fellowship to care for the elderly. Behind each health issue they were just like me at one point. They were someone. When I sit to hear their stories it touches me. Now they have to rely on someone everyday. I feel that when an elderly is happy then I know i have done my job well for that day.
