I've been a caregiver for six years with mainly long term clients. I have experience with wheelchairs and lifts, feeding tubes and oxygen systems. I'm not an expert but I successfully cared for a client with Alzheimer's for two years. I'm punctual and reliable and a good problem solver. A decent cook, I'm not too proud to ask Google for help if I'm tasked with a dish I'm not familiar with. I'm friendly and personable and have always fit in with the families I've served. I cared for a wheelchair bound elderly gentleman along with his able-bodied wife. In addition to the daily duties of bathing, shaving, teeth brushing and toileting, my tasks included administering medications and liquid nutrition via peg tube to my client and preparing healthy meals for his wife. I also cared for their pets, ran errands, did laundry and light housekeeping, scheduled appointments and did anything that was asked of me. I also drove them almost daily to outings and appointments. I can safely operate both Hoyer and Sit-to-Stand lifts and I know my way around a wheelchair ramp.

I cared for a lovely elderly lady that used a walker to get around. I stayed by her side whenever she was up on her feet. My duties included assisting her with bathing, dressing, toileting and dispensing medication. I prepared her breakfast and snack and cleaned the kitchen after her husband (a fantastic cook!) prepared dinner. I drove her to all her medical appointments and accompanied her on her weekly hair salon visits. After awhile I even got bold and started washing, curling and styling her hair myself when she didn't feel like going to the salon. While it didn't look quite the same as her professionally done hairstyle, my client was pleased with it and that's all that mattered. I didn't have much of a housekeeping responsibility, they had a cleaning service. I made the bed, cleaned up after meals, did all the laundry and occasionally vacuumed and straightened up if company was coming.
